Top 5 Anticipated Tablets Of 2013
While there are currently a lot of tablets on the market, there are an estimated 50 new tablets that will likely be released this year, according to a recent Tabletmonkeys post. Some companies have confirmed the tablet launch dates, while others are only offering speculated release dates. With all of these
Samsung Galaxy Tab 3
On the Tabletmonkeys list is the much-anticipated Samsung Galaxy Tab 3. Samsung’s tablet comes in both 7″ and 10.1″ and it’s expected to be released in the second quarter of 2013, which is likely sometime between the beginning of April and the end of June.
The 10.1″ tablet from the Korean electronics giant supposedly has a 1.6GHz Quad-Core Processor. Expect the 7″ version to have a 1.6GHz Exynos 4412 Processor. The 7″ slate, according to Tom’s Hardware, sports a 1280 X 800-pixel resolution screen. The tablet, which rumors to have model number GT-P3200, has the same resolution as the Google Nexus 7.
Apple iPad Mini 2
The follow-up to the 2012 iPad Mini is coming soon in the U.S. Rumors are always flying around any new Apple product release, and this one is no different. The Apple iPad Mini 2 is expected to have a richer screen resolution than its predecessor and address common problems users complained about. The main problem that is expected to be resolved is the low resolution in comparison to other 7″ tablets. At 1024 X 768 pixels, the original mini tablet’s resolution sits lower than the Nexus 7.
The second-generation iPad Mini is due out by the end of March, according to Tabletmonkeys. The 7.85″ will run on iOS 6.1.
Sony Xperia Tablet Z
Talk about the Sony Xperia Tablet Z release is exciting news for Android lovers. The tablet officially launches in the U.S. this spring. It is the first 10.1″ tablet from Sony. The wide screen appeals to anyone who doesn’t like the small text appearing on the 7″ devices yet still wants the multi-touch capabilities of scrolling and pinch to zoom.
A bonus is that the device is supposedly waterproof and dustproof, as per another Tabletmonkeys post. The Android 4.1 tablet promises Sony’s trademark sharp quality and supposedly has a 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S4 Processor.
Nokia Lumia Tab
Fans of Windows 8 RT can expect to love the Lumia Tab from Nokia. The tablet should be out in 2013, but there is no estimation on exactly when. This tablet is expected to rival Sony’s Xperia Tablet Z in the 10.1″ gadget market as well as the Apple iPad.
The Lumia Tab is generating buzz because it may be the perfect tool to set Windows 8 ablaze, which got a lot of attention in 2012 when it hit the U.S. market. This gadget has potential to draw users away from Apple iOS devices and maybe even boost Windows phones popularity.

Consumers who want a budget tablet will most likely enjoy the Asus MeMO Pad 7. The 7″ tablet is supposedly just shy of $150, which Android fans will know is a great deal. Asus rivals Acer, which recently made a similar announcement about launching a low-price tablet of the same operating system this year.
The release date for the MeMO Pad is April 16. The model ME172V reportedly runs on a 1GHz WM8950 Processor and comes with Google Play preinstalled.
